Year of Completion: 2012
General Contractor: Hyder Construction
With sustainability initiatives in place, Wells Fargo moved forward with securing a two floor lease for a large training and work center in a sustainable office building undergoing its own LEED certification process. While the team studied the potential for LEED interiors certification as well, it was decided to implement the sustainable practices only and not actually move forward with official certification. A third phase added complexity by increasing the scope to an additional half of a floor immediately after the completed construction of Phases I & II. The client understood the extra costs involved in such a delayed decision, but was pleased with the quick design and construction turn around. One can imagine the added difficulty of trying to incorporate the new construction immediately adjacent to the new end users, but the team successfully partitioned the space until the last moment possible to prevent disruption of the varying training spaces & work cubicles.
