The intended renovation of an existing 1960’s medical office near Swedish Hospital became anything but simple.  Selective demolition uncovered of the disintegration of many critical systems and structures, so this 22,000 SF remodel became a ground up new construction project practically overnight.  Despite these challenges, this new facility boasts mountain views, contemporary yet timeless interior finishes, and plenty of parking & access for its new residents - a new outpatient surgery center, Lasik center, midwifery center, and a podiatry team.

As the new anchor tenant in the Cherry Hills Medical Plaza the Cherry Hills Surgery Center eagerly awaited their brand new space after tight sub-grade conditions a few miles away.  Kenney Architects teamed with Marasco & Associates to create a Class ‘A” outpatient surgery center, specializing in state of the art eye care. Warm finises and diffused daylight offer a comfortable, homey setting for the patients and doctors alike.

General Contractor: Maxwell Builders

Heartland Dental is a national company that facilitates the opening of new dental practices around the country. Upon a GC referral, they reached out to Kenney Architects to expand into the mountain region with their prototype tenant improvement.  The Thornton facility was the first implementation in the region, going into a newly built retail center.  This 2,800 SF suite is on the smaller side of their practices but still included a surgical room, five treatment rooms, and two hygiene rooms.  We have since expanded  our working relationship to include other practices in Colorado and Arizona.

Husband and wife podiatry physicians were ready to expand their practice and found the Cherry Hills Medical Plaza to be a desireable new home.  Being at the lower walk-out level of the space it presented some plenum challenges, but LED lighting and colorful finishes made the space feel airy and bright for visitors and staff.

General Contractor: Haselden Construction

Veterinarian Dr. Mamula was looking to open her own independent practice in the growing west end of Parker, a suburb of Denver. Viewing this as a five year plan while expanding her practice, this project was a balance between careful budgeting but resilient, attractive finishes.  Her logo inspired the fun accent colors utilized in paint, furniture, and lighting.  The 2,400 SF suite included four exam rooms, a dental and surgical treatment area, office, conference room, and staff kitchen.  We brought the contractor in during the design phase to help maintain budget as well as get a running start on permitting when drawings were completed. The project was delivered on time and within budget with a happy client.

This modest 970 SF laser center is a cozy little suite that serves the sole purpose of serving patients with precision eye procedures. Twenty different doctors utilize the facility for it’s lasers on a variety of patient cases.  Two on site assistants continuously staff the space and help guide the efficient plan including a waiting area, consult office, procedure room, recovery space, and store room
