Year of Completion: 2002
General Contractor: Adolfson & Peterson
The design of this 16,000 square foot facility moves in two directions. The multi-faceted plan allows for each library space to align with different aspects of the site from the adjacent mountains on the west to the sports park on the north. Each major area of the library shapes itself to the surrounding views, creating a combined kinetic form. The color of the facility derives itself from the spring desert blooms acting as an accent to the typically brown desert environment.
