Year of Completion: 2003
General Contractor: Adolfson & Peterson
The 30,000 Martin Luther King Jr. Library and Municipal Services Center is a key focal point of the redevelopment of “Original Aurora.” The building houses the Library, Aurora Police Department, and City offices. Coupled with the redevelopment of the existing Fletcher Plaza, the building will act as a design precedent for the surrounding development. An exterior projection screen enhances the colorful use of finish materials and creates a lively, social setting for all. The transparency of the design will present an open invitation for the community to utilize the public resources housed within.
